The Experience
The Penguin Bookstore in HKV is barely bigger than a large living room, but it's perfectly curated. Every shelf has been chosen with care, and the selection covers the sweet spot between literary fiction, pop culture, and visual art. The bookstore date is a classic for a reason: it reveals personality without pressure. The 'pick a book for each other by cover' game is a natural icebreaker that tells you more about how someone thinks than a hour of small talk could. Keep it short, then choose a cafe after confirming its location and opening hours.
Best for...
First dates where you want to break the ice without interview questions. Pre-dinner add-on. Introvert-friendly dates. Rainy afternoon dates.
