₹500 is North Campus's real ceiling for a first stop — Macho Chole Bhature is ₹200 for two, Giani Ice Cream ₹200, Xero Degrees' jar shakes ₹350, and QD's or Abongchiang's momos and thukpa run ₹350–400. The Law Faculty lawns and Bungalow Road market — a genuine thrift-shopping lane, not a food stop — cost nothing. ₹1,500 covers a full Hudson Lane evening: Ricos, BYD, or Echoes Cafe run ₹800–850 for two, Cafeteria & Co. ₹1,000, and Indus Flavour ₹1,400.
At ₹1,700-plus, Cantino and 736 AD Culinary Bar — ₹1,000–2,000, live music some nights — are the zone's top tier. This is a genuinely cheap zone by Plankro's standards, built for a student budget, not date-night splurging: even its most expensive listed venue barely touches what a mid-tier stop costs in Saket or CP, and most couples here spend more time picking between cafes than watching the bill at the end of the night.
Best Time To Go
Hudson Lane runs on the DU academic calendar as much as the clock — packed on a normal semester evening from 6 PM, noticeably dead during exam weeks and the summer break when campus empties out. Weekday evenings are actually busier here than in a lot of Delhi zones, since it's a student crowd on a college schedule, not a 9-to-5 one. The Law Faculty lawns are a daytime-into-early-evening stop for the same reason — they empty out once classes and the evening crowd both wind down. Weekend evenings add a live-music crowd at 736 AD and similar spots, later and louder than the weekday version.
What Breaks Here
This is one of Plankro's most walkable zones — most of Hudson Lane's cafes sit within a few minutes of each other and of the metro gate, and Indus Flavour is literally by the station exit — but it fills up fast on weekend evenings, and Cantino or 736 AD without a booking means standing room only. A couple of venues tagged here, like Firangi Bake, sit further out in Mukherjee Nagar rather than on Hudson Lane itself — a short walk, not the same lane, and Mukherjee Nagar itself is a separate coaching-institute hub with its own crowd and its own pace, busier with students studying for exams than couples on a date. It's also genuinely a college crowd: if the date isn't looking for a campus-canteen energy, North Campus on a Wednesday evening during term time isn't the quiet option.

GTB Nagar metro (Yellow Line) is a 5-minute walk from most of Hudson Lane — one of the most metro-convenient zones on Plankro.
